Saxon est un groupe de heavy metal anglais. Débutant au milieu des années 70 dans le Yorkshire, formé à Barsnley (près de Sheffield) en Angleterre (Royaume-Uni), à la même époque que des groupes comme Iron Maiden ou Def Leppard. Bien qu’ayant connu une période moins populaire dans les années 1990, le groupe a retrouvé une seconde jeunesse.

Saxon are an English heavy metal band, formed in 1976 in Barnsley, Yorkshire. As leading lights in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal they had huge success in the 1980s with 8 UK Top 40 albums including 4 UK Top 10 albums. Saxon also had numerous singles in the Top 20 singles chart. Between 1980 and 1987 Saxon established themselves as one of Europe's biggest metal acts, they also had success in Japan and in the USA. In Japan, the single "Motorcycle Man" stayed in the charts for over 5 months. They still tour heavily and regularly. Their latest tour is their largest in the UK since the late 1980s. Saxon have sold more than 13 million albums worldwide and heavily influenced bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Sodom and Running Wild.

There is another incarnation of Saxon featuring two former band members who hold the legal rights to the name - "Oliver/Dawson Saxon".

Motörhead est un groupe de heavy metal britannique fondé en 1975 par son bassiste Lemmy Kilmister, seul membre permanent du groupe des origines à nos jours. Évoquant à la fois le son lourd du heavy metal et les tempos très rapides du punk rock, le tout sur des structures musicales issues du rock 'n' roll des années 1950-1960, la musique de Motörhead est souvent considérée comme étant à l'origine du speed metal et du thrash metal. Si cette parenté peut se discuter, il est indéniable que l'influence du groupe s'étend encore sur toute la scène metal aujourd'hui.



Lemmy a toujours refusé de voir son groupe étiqueté sous une bannière ou une autre, clamant qu'il s'agit simplement de rock 'n' roll. Cette attitude est typique de la philosophie du groupe, qui s'exprime notamment au travers des paroles des chansons. Très soignées, ces dernières abordent des thèmes typiques du heavy metal - guerre, combat du "mal" contre la "bien-pensance", drogues, sexe et vie « Rock and Roll » sur la route - en jouant avec les clichés du genre et en les contournant habilement. Lemmy a d'ailleurs déclaré dans une interview que la personne qui avait le plus influencé sa carrière était son professeur d'anglais au collège, lorsqu'elle lui avait fait découvrir la littérature et l'écriture.

Fastway are a heavy metal band formed by guitarist, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, formerly of Motörhead, and bassist, Pete Way, formerly of UFO.

Fondé en 1983 par "Fast" Eddy Clarke, ex guitariste de Motorhead et Pete Way ex bassiste d'UFO (d'où le nom)qui ne restera que quelques semaines dans le groupe avant de fonder son Waysted, le groupe se fera fort remarquer à la sortie de son premier album en qui certain vire le nouveau Led Zeppelin, assimilation due au chant influencé par Robert Plant de son vocaliste. La suite a prouvé que cela ne suffisait pas.
